The UAE will invest $75 billion (AED272.25 billion) in India’s infrastructure sector over a period of 10 years, UAE Ambassador to India Dr Ahmed Al Banna has reportedly said.
The plan to set up multi-billion dollar - National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) – was unveiled after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UAE in August 2015 but no timeframe for the massive investment was given.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces will be visiting India as the chief guest for the 2017-Republic Day celebrations from January 24 to 26.
“There have been several meetings in reference to this, and the NIIF CEO was in Abu Dhabi about a month ago. The $75 billion is being talked about over a period of 10 years,” Al Banna told
