Tales of Climate Change and Development

Tales of Climate Change and Development

Tales of climate change and development, a 68-minute film by Soumitra Ghosh, tells the tales of climate refugees from disappeared and disappearing islands on the Bay of Bengal, as well as development victims: people poisoned and displaced by mining, industries, dams and wind energy projects owned by big corporations, in various states of India. It shows that in India climate change (and everything connected to it) is an unmitigated saga of disaster and misery for local communities: rising seas and vagaries of weather, extraction and use of fossil fuel, the root cause of climate change, and also, its so-called solutions like renewable energy and clean development mechanism (CDM) projects.
