AYURVEDA,YOGA & NATUROPATHY,UNANI,SIDDHA AND HOMEOPATHY (AYUSH)be pleased to state:-

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state: 

(a) whether persons who possesses traditional knowledge in AYUSH system of medicine but do not hold valid certificate from any recognised institution can practice as a medical professional, if so, the details thereof; 

(b) if not, the steps being taken to assess the knowledge level of such self-claimed doctors and to regularise only those persons who possess sufficient knowledge and experience in the concerned field; and 

(c) the steps being taken to prevent fake doctors and quacks who can play with the lives of common people but also tarnish this particular system of medicine?

(a) & (b): As per section 17 of Indian Medicine Central Council (IMCC) Act, 1970 and as per section 15 and 26 of Homoeopathy Central Council (HCC) Act, 1973, only the person possessing recognized medical qualifications and is enrolled on State Register or the Central Register is eligible for registration and practice of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy. 

(c): Health is a State subject. Accordingly, action against fake doctors and quacks is the responsibility of the State Government.
